Serenity Garden at Yuma Medical

The Serenity Garden at Yuma Regional Medical Center offers patients, staff and visitors a special place of respite, contemplation and healing. Designed as a sensory garden experience, the space uses thoughtful material choices and carefully selected plantings to create a welcome shift from the Cancer Center’s medical environment. Hardscape finishes are reinforced by geometric architectural force lines extending from the buildings across the garden, linking the existing patient facility with the new YRMC Cancer Center and creating a connected space for comfortable year-round use. Layered tree canopies, flowering shrubs and accent plants were selected to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
