Flight for Life Mahany Heroes Park
St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center, located in Frisco, Colorado, is a Level III Trauma Center serviced by Flight For Life Colorado. On July 3rd, 2015, a tragic helicopter crash occurred on site. Pilot and decorated veteran, Patrick Mahany, died in the crash and two flight nurses were critically injured. A memorial park was built at the hospital to honor the victims, creating a space for reflection and to celebrate the lives that are saved by service professionals at the hospital and Flight For Life. Norris Design worked with the hospital foundation and a committee of volunteers to design and plan the park. The park is adjacent to Forest Service lands along the Summit County Recreation Path and will provide a place for the community to gather and take in the mountain and lake views.
