Bennett Master Plan

Norris Design was retained by this fast-growing Metro Denver community to create its first Parks, Trails and Open Space plan. Bennett, located in both Arapahoe and Adams counties, needed guidance to plan for future parks and recreation facilities as development occurs. Norris Design assessed the existing inventory, other planning documents, maintenance provisions, policy and management. The team also engaged stakeholders and the community through a series of workshops and focus groups. The master plan provides a road map for future enhancements to the system, mechanisms for land set-asides for parks, trails and open space and regulatory provisions to create a “fees-in-lieu” policy in order to secure the land necessary for priority facility needs.
