The Serenity Garden offers patients, staff, and visitors a special place of respite, contemplation and healing. A sensory garden experience, created through the thoughtful use of materials and careful plant selection, offers a welcome shift from the Cancer Center’s medical environment. Hardscape finishes are reinforced by geometric architectural force lines extending from the buildings across the garden that link the existing patient facility with the new YRMC Cancer Center, creating a connected space for comfortable year-round use. Layered tree canopies are embellished by flowering shrubs and accent plants researched and selected to serve as butterfly and hummingbird attractors.
