Denver Housing Authority Mariposa Phase IV

Denver, Colorado

Mariposa Phase IV, a mixed-use transit-oriented redevelopment of South Lincoln Park, includes streetscape design to activate 10th Avenue as it connects to Santa Fe and the art district from the 10th and Osage light rail station.  Creative playgrounds for families and an early childhood education center are key elements of the courtyard which also features a community greenhouse and gardens and permeable landscape detention. In addition to promoting healthy eating and gardening activities, the courtyard offers residents a fitness zone featuring outdoor exercise equipment and a rubberized surface for children learning to ride bicycles. A Colorado Health Foundation Grant assisted with funding for these elements. Mariposa is a Green Enterprise project and obtained LEED® Platinum certification.
