Brighton City Hall & Carmichael Park

Brighton, Colorado

Before the City of Brighton moved into the former Adams County Government building, the City focused on a master plan for both the new City Hall campus and the adjacent Carmichael (formerly Campbell) Park. The 8-acre park site was minimally developed, while the building was set on 5 acres that was developed but in need of a landscaping update. The site has a rich history as the original Adams County Fairgrounds, so the theme focused on expressing the history of Brighton and the site, respecting resources and the environment.  Through strong design elements, best management practices and physical connections to the community, the master plan integrated the repurposed campus, incorporating a multipurpose field and great lawn.
