Town of Yampa Community Kickoff BBQ
Norris Design recently kicked off comprehensive planning efforts for the Town of Yampa. Yampa’s Comprehensive Plan was first adopted in 1997 and this update to the plan will help establish a sound vision to guide future decision-making within the Town. In the 25 years since the Plan was adopted, economic conditions and regional growth have changed dramatically.
To allow the community to influence the change, the Town of Yampa hosted a Community Kickoff BBQ in September to launch the effort. Community members attended the event to learn about the update and provide input on the community’s future. Norris Design team members facilitated discussions on what a comprehensive plan is, why it’s important and how to get involved.
We had a great turnout at the kickoff BBQ! I really enjoyed hearing from the community — especially all the things people love about Yampa. We’re looking forward to putting this community input to work as we develop a shared vision for the town’s future. — Matthew Siegle, Project Manager
Community members will have the opportunity to attend future events, participate in focus groups and stay informed about updates on the plan’s progress. An open house is scheduled to follow up on the community’s participation in focus groups and to update them on the next phase of the plan.
