Norris Design Wins Six National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Awards
Norris Design was recognized with three NAHB The Nationals Awards, two NAHB Best of 55+ Housing Awards, and one Best in American Living Award at the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas earlier this month.
The Nationals Awards program is NAHB’s largest and most prestigious awards program, recognizing outstanding achievements, innovation, creativity and originality in the housing industry.
RainDance was recognized with top honors, a Gold Award, in the Best Landscape of a Community category. Northern Colorado has a rich agricultural and farming history. With these historical roots in mind, Martin Lind, a fourth-generation farmer, saw a future for Northern Colorado with a harmonious coexistence between the burgeoning need for housing and a rich agricultural history. Hospice of the Valley Dementia Care & Education Center was recognized with top honors, a Gold Award, in the Best Assisted Living or Memory Care Community category. Providing patients and visitors a large garden courtyard to enjoy the Arizona climate, this facility is located above the underground parking structure and the main courtyard is programmed with multiple seating spaces and various sensory elements to evoke memories and offer tactile stimulation throughout the garden. The courtyard is connected to a great lawn concept that organizes the layout of the facility and produces the smell of cut grass as one of the sensory elements for patients and visitors alike. Wind Crest Senior Living was recognized as a finalist with a Silver Award in the Best Apartment or Independent Living Community category. A senior living community with a complete continuum of care, Wind Crest occupies a 140-acre campus. Approximately 1,950 residential units and a continuing care facility are arranged within three separate neighborhoods. The site’s design focuses on preserving views of the Rocky Mountain foothills and Denver skyline while protecting the Highline Canal corridor that bisects the site. Landscape design elements encompass three compatible themes that focus on the local environments. TerraSante was recognized with a Gold Award in the On the Boards Community category. Located in the Rainbow Valley area of Goodyear, Ariz. The property is nestled in a spectacular setting in the Sonoran Desert and at the base of the majestic Estrella Mountains. The master plan envisions the development of 4,500 homes adjacent to the central topographic feature branded as Spirit Ridge. The visioning process for this plan required extensive consideration to define and resolve challenges — from community visioning exercises to development execution.
