Norris Design takes to public spaces for urban sketchers meet-up series

Posted on April 20, 2022

Earlier this month, a small group from Norris Design gathered outside the Denver Art Museum for the first in a series of urban sketching meet-up events. The sun was shining as team members set up near the ‘Scottish Cow and her Calf’ sculpture with sketch pads and their drawing tools of choice. Envisioned as easy-going afternoons for team members to hone their drawing skills, the events are also geared toward enjoying public spaces and each other’s company.

So much of what we do in our day-to-day is about observation and communication — drawing is the perfect combination of those skills. As designers of places, it’s arguably one of the fastest and most persuasive tools in our toolbelts.  — John Kohl, Project Manager

The urban sketchers will be headed to Union Station next month to enjoy the early summer hustle-and-bustle plaza experience and to practice incorporating entourage into their drawings of urban spaces. Future drawing venues include the Denver Botanic Gardens and the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Stay tuned for more Norris Design urban sketchers events!
