Norris Design Picnics for Pride at Cheesman Park

Posted on June 29, 2021

On Sunday, Norris Design staff gathered at Cheesman Park for a picnic in celebration and support of our LGBTQ+ community. The group brought blankets, chairs and cornhole and imbibed on bagels in a sunny corner of the park.

The Norris Design inaugural Pride picnic was a huge success and lots of fun. It gave us an opportunity to come together and celebrate and support the diversity of the Norris Design family.

Cultivating an equitable practice is how we have always embraced diversity: at Norris Design, equity is embedded in our DNA, and reflected in every project we plan, design and brand.

We support creativity, connection and community engagement to improve the quality of the built environment — for every person who will interact with a space. To us, equity is best practiced by putting people first — in every plan, every design and every brand that we create.

We are committed to leading by engaging with challenges through positive, collaborative, respectful and inclusive methods that celebrate the uniqueness of our world and everyone in it.

I look forward to Pride every year. It’s a special event when we come together to show love and support for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s about recognition and visibility and is a time for us to remember that everyone should feel comfortable and safe being themselves.
