Norris Design’s Bobcat Trail at Traditions Field Master Plan was recently recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Dream/Study Award category by the Greater Dallas Planning Council. The 2022 award winners were honored at the 2022 Urban Design Awards reception earlier this month.

Bobcat Trail at Traditions Park encompasses approximately 25 acres of land in the eastern limits of Downtown Celina and is centered around Doe Branch and the soon-to-be-replaced Bobcat High School Football Stadium. The Celina Trails Master Plan identifies this creek as a primary greenbelt trail corridor linking neighborhoods to the south with Downtown Celina. The Celina Downtown Master Plan anticipates this area will change over time and eventually include on-street parking, wide sidewalks, patio homes, multi-story living and shared public space. The master plan establishes a single vision for the creek corridor that capitalizes upon the existing football stadium and its history while adding trails and public recreation amenities that draw in residents from across the City. Multiple vacant parcels and City-owned land are proposed to be combined into the greater project area for this long-term plan, adding value to the area and serving as a catalyst for redevelopment.
