Norris Design Principal Elena Scott Named SMPS Colorado Inaugural Firm Leader of the Year

Norris Design announced Principal and Partner Elena Scott, LEED® AP, has been named the 2022 inaugural Firm Leader of the Year winner for the SMPS Colorado Chapter (SMPS CO).

The award was announced at SMPS CO’s Marketing Excellence Awards event held at the Asterisk on May 19. According to the SMPS CO website, the “Firm Leader of the Year is a technical leader whose influence has significantly impacted the marketing and/or business development departments within their firm. This person bridges the gap between the technical profession and the marketing world through collaboration, mentorship, and support. They whole-heartedly value the SMPS mission, Business Transformed Through Marketing Leadership.”

With nearly 20 years of experience at Norris Design, Scott was recognized for her career-long contributions to advocating for the importance of marketing and business development within the firm and the AEC industry. Her focus on mentoring and advocacy were highlighted at the event along with her conviction that marketers bring a perspective to the table that is invaluable.

Elena just gets it. She bridges the gap between Norris Design’s technical team and the marketing team by being a trusted collaborator, mentor, advocate, sounding board, cheerleader and most importantly, leader. — Emily E. Cox, Senior Associate

Scott has been with Norris Design, a planning, landscape architecture and branding firm headquartered in Denver, since 2003. As a member of the Colorado Managing Team and a Principal of Norris Design’s mountain region office in Frisco, Elena’s concepts and vision as a landscape architect and planner enhance towns and communities throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
