Nestled in a dense ponderosa pine forest with dramatic rock outcroppings and gambel oak stands, Wanderland is a premier camping destination on the western fringe of Flagstaff, Arizona. Embracing the new trend of glamping, the 23.5-acre site envisions RV parking, trailer, and tiny home sites. The proposed amenities will include a general store, restaurant, restrooms, showers, and office space for operations.
Norris Design provided an illustrative master plan and 3D visualization graphics, conceptualizing a naturalized pond with a recirculating stream. An onsite riparian habitat is planned to alleviate common flooding issues and provide multiple recreational opportunities. The glamping sites will feature large canvas tents, offering many of the same amenities as an upscale hotel room, and be perched on platforms to provide views overlooking the adjacent pond.
Norris Design is collaborating with Woodson Engineering to further develop the schematic design of the project. Part of a team of professionals, Norris Design is leading the conversation between owner, Vintage Partners, and the City of Flagstaff to best develop this unique attraction under the San Francisco Peaks.
