The KSU + Norris Design Connection
The Norris Design connection with Kansas State University (KSU) began when John Norris received his degree in Landscape Architecture there 35 years ago. As he launched his career and established Norris Design, John stayed in close touch with his alma mater and is an avid K-State Wildcat fan. A member of the Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC) for 10 years, John is now Chairman of the Council. Norris Design also funds three scholarships for landscape architecture annually to encourage talented students (see scholarship winners listed below) – many of whom have gone on to work at Norris Design. Currently there are 23 KSU graduates on staff, and more than 40 graduates have worked at Norris Design since 1985.
Recently, John visited the campus to sponsor and attend the KSU Architecture, Planning and Design (APDesign) DAC. While he was there, he met this year’s scholarship winners at the students’ scholarship reception. The DAC also toured the new College’s renovation of Seaton/Regnier Hall, KSU’s new building for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design, and the Norris Design Crit Room. The KSU + ND connection continues to grow as the next generation of designers learns, trains and begins to make their own distinctive mark.
