2009 NORRIS DESIGN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Thank you for your interest in Norris Design's Theory 2 Practice Internship Program.
Norris Design is as vivid and vibrant as the landscapes we envision, and this is your opportunity to become a part of our dynamic team. The Norris Design Theory 2 Practice is a paid internship program where you will gain valuable hands-on experience while working with talented landscape architects and planners. Our internship program allows you to apply classroom theories to the practice of planning and landscape architecture, in addition to working in a fun, creative and professional environment.
As an integral member of the project team, you will have opportunities to work on a full-range of projects including master planning, urban design, corporate site design and environmental planning. You will also actively participate in conceptual designs, team workshops and client meetings, as well as construction observation. The Theory 2 Practice internship program is available to all students returning to school for the Fall 2009 semester.
Goals: Our program is designed to reward both you and Norris Design equally. You will gain valuable working experience in the profession and at the same time, learn about the unique design environments that
Denver has to offer.
In order to achieve these goals, you will:
- Learn the inter-workings of an office environment;
- Gain hands-on experience working with a variety of professionals in the fields of community planning, mixed-use design and landscape architecture;
- Attend meetings and learn to interact with clients and design professionals;
- Have the opportunity to explore the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
3-Month Summer Internship Program:
Our summer Theory 2 Practice internship program runs from mid-May to August 2009 and will be available in our
Denver office.
If you are interested in either of these internships please submit the following:

Letter of Interest.

Your current resume (including your year in school and the program in which you study).

2-4 examples of your best landscape architecture and/or planning work. Show plans, sections, sketches, etc. that best describe the project and your abilities.

2 references that are familiar with your professional training. Include names, phone numbers and titles of your chosen references.

You can submit this information in any format you deem appropriate. Please remember that there is a (10 MB) file size limitation to email attachments. If you send a CD or DVD please make sure it is Windows compatible. CDs and DVDs will not be returned.
Application Deadline:
Summer program applications must be received no later than Friday, March 6, 2009. Finalists will be interviewed over the phone the week of March 16th. The student(s) selected to participate in the program will be notified no later than March 20, 2009.
