History

In the 1980’s, John Norris started The Norris Company in the basement of his family’s home on three core principles: 1. Have fun doing what you are doing; 2. Make a good living; and 3. Do better projects each year. In 1991, John Norris reunited with his former studio-mate from Kansas State University, Jim Dullea, combining Jim’s land planning talents with John’s more traditional landscape architecture skills to form NORRIS DULLEA. In 2002, Jim Dullea decided to leave the realm of consulting, subsequently resulting in our name change from Norris Dullea to Norris Design in 2005.

That same year, we expanded geographically with the opening of an office in Tucson, Arizona and our Denver office moved to the Golden Triangle of Denver. In 2006, we opened 3 additional offices: a Chicago office, a Phoenix office and an office in Frisco, Colorado. In 2012 we expanded again, opening an office in Austin, Texas.
